Ford Sales Up Tiny Amount

Ford (NYSE: F) posted a very  modest sales gain of 5% in March compared to the same month last year. The company said, however, that the number represents the best March in five years.

March sales of the company’s flagship F-Series were 58,061 are up 9%, its best March sales performance since 2007. Sales of the fuel economy EconoBoost engine version of the F-Series rose

Ford cars sales were up 8% – Focus was the biggest seller among Ford’s car lineup, with sales up 78 %.

Sales of the Lincoln brand continued to be extremely low–20,836, up 4.1%. The brand continues to run well behind market leaders Mercedes, BMW, and even GM’s (NYSE: GM) Cadillac

Sales of the Fiesta also dropped sharply–down 24% to 15,522.

The takeaway from the data is that Ford barely has a luxury brand
