GM Recall on 300,000 Chevy Cruze Models for Brake Problem

In June of 2012 GM was forced to recall essentially all of the Chevy Cruzes in the previous two years to fix a problem that could have resulted in an engine fire. The Cruze is built at a factory in Lordstown, Ohio.
Regarding the latest recall, GM said it knows of 27 low-speed accidents due to braking issues with the cars but that no injuries have been reported. From the NHTSA website, here’s a description of what happens:
WHEN PUTTING CAR INTO REVERSE ON LEVEL GROUND TO BACK UP, BRAKES DO NOT WORK PROPERLY AND HARDLY STOPS CAR, VERY UNNERVING. DEALER COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM, HAPPENS RANDOMLY. HAVE HAD THIS OCCUR SEVERAL TIMES NOW.
Somehow, the all-caps shouting seems appropriate in this case.
Shares of GM’s stock are off 0.1% in early afternoon trading at $34.51 in a 52-week range of $20.86 to $37.71.
