General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) updated its 2014 recall count for the United States and North America, adding almost 350,000 recalled vehicles to its U.S. count and more than 490,000 to its North American total. The report was released on Saturday and covers recalls dated back through late September.

As of October 1, GM has recalled nearly 26.5 million vehicles in the United States and more than 30 million in North America.

The largest recalls were initiated for 2010 through 2015 Cadillac SRX and 2011 through 2012 Saab 9-4X models. More than 290,000 U.S. vehicles (430,550 in North America) were recalled for a an improperly torqued rear suspension toe adjuster link. This may cause the vehicle to sway or wander at highway speeds. Dealers must perform the required repair on unsold vehicles in inventory before they may be sold. GM did not report any crashes or injuries related to this defect.

A total of 89,294 Chevrolet Sparks from model years 2013 to 2015 were recalled to replace a hood latch that prematurely corroded, which may cause the latch to close improperly and allow the hood to open unexpectedly. Dealers will replace the latches on unsold vehicles in inventory.

A total of 46,873 model year 2008 through 2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011 through 2013 Chevrolet Caprice police patrol vehicles sedans are also included. The ignition switch may slip from the “run” to “accessory” position if the driver’s knee bumps the ignition key.

GM is also recalling 10,005 model year 2004 to 2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006 to 2007 Cadillac STS-V sedans in the United States. The fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat, causing the flange material to melt. GM is unaware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to the condition.

Last, 304 model year 2014 Chevrolet Sonics have been recalled to repair an electrical connection in the car’s steering column that may interfere with airbag deployment in some severe crashes.

GM had already reported more than 205,000 recalls in the United States due to emergency brake problems on 2013 to 2015 Cadillac XTS and 2014 to 2015 Chevrolet Impala models. GM also earlier recalled more than 97,000 SUVs built in 2013 and 2014 to repair a contamination problem in the chassis control module.
