We have been seeing very strong auto sales in America for the month of June. If you read through the headlines these were by large broad-based gains. Some were record sales ever for certain makes and models, while many proved to be record sales for any June in prior years. 24/7 Wall St. wanted to see how the luxury models of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche did comparatively.

Audi said that June was its best June ever and marked the best first half since it started selling inside the U.S. The company said that Audi Q5 and Q7 sales remain strong and its premium segment vehicles rose 19% in June. Unit sales rose 8.2% this June to 13,706 vehicles for the second best month ever for the brand. Year-to-date Audi 2013 sales increased 14% to 74,277 vehicles sold.

BMW said that its total group sales were up 21.4% to 33,645 vehicles. When you back out Mini and motorcycle units the core BMW brand sales rose by 24.6% in June to 27,074. BMW’s best performing vehicles in June were as follows 3 Series, up 62.6% to 10,957 units; the 6 Series, up 119.5% to 1,409 units; the 7 Series, up 58.6% to 855 units; and the X3 SAV, up 5.5 percent to 2,981 units. BMW brand sales year-to-date is up 11% to 140,431 units.

Mercedes-Benz USA reported a 7% combined sales of 27,162 units for June. Mercedes-Benz sales rose by 9.8% to 24,415 units, bringing year-to-date volumes for the brand to a milestone 141,950 units. The company showed that Sprinter Vans posted strong year-to-date sales of 9,483, which combined with year-to-date sales of 4,459 from smart to bring MBUSA’s first-half total to 155,892. As a whole, sales of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars jumped 10.2% compared to the first-half of 2012, increasing from 82,275 in June of last year to 90,650.

Porsche said that its sports cars, Cayenne SUVs and the Panamera June 2013 sales gains of 23.2% to 3,700 vehicles, marking the best June in company history. Porsche has delivered 21,309 vehicles in the U.S. for a 30% increase from the same period a year ago as a record-setting year. Panamera sales tanked but Boxter and Cayman sales combined were up 65% in June and Cayenne unit sales rose 76% in June.

As far as elsewhere: GM sales were up 6.5%, and we have shown a combined Ford and Chrysler reading with Chrysler up 8% and Ford unit sales up 13.4%.
