This week the analysts commented on the onset of winter and its impact on indoor grows:
Now that we are moving into winter and colder temperatures, it is easier for indoor growers to regulate their environments, allowing less loss to pest and environmental problems, as well as lowering the cost of production. This lower cost of production will also be accompanied in general by higher quality indoor product. This combination of higher quality product – coupled with the expected seasonal reduction in sales volume of sungrown flower – is anticipated to support the historical trend of slowly climbing prices throughout the winter and into the spring.
Indoor flower prices ranged from $1,100 to $3,200 per pound; the median price was $1,800. Greenhouse flower prices ranged from $900 to $2,000 per pound, and the median price was $1,695. Outdoor flower prices ranged from $500 to $2,250 per pound. The median price was $1,252.
