99 Cents Only Stores (NYSE: NDN) has launched nothing short of a funny nearly free advertising campaign that is local to the Texas market. The company has a “Go Texan” version of bashing LeBron James in favor of the Dallas Mavericks after the NBA Finals underdog victory. The trick: regional weekly promotions.
The discount calls for “75 Cents Only when you don’t have a fourth quarter.”
Nice.
Apparently 99 Cents Only does not have stores in Ohio. This ad might have done better there, and people in Ohio could probably use the discount more than customers in Texas.
The ad did not disclose whether or not it would be honored for wine, pacifiers, or diapers.
