Rediff.com (REDF-NASDAQ) has launched its new financial market info site in a beta mode. The site, called rediff MONEYWISE, can be found at the following URL:
http://money.rediff.com/money/jsp/markets_home.jsp
The beta site has Market Report, Broker Tips, Top 5, Sensex, Mutual Fund Selector, and Top 5 Mutual Funds. There is also a Message Boards area.
As of now it seems very basic and is a far cry behind Yahoo! and Google equivalent sites in the US, but at least the easy format is a good way for foreign investors to catch the key issues in the Indian markets. Since India has ranked up with China in high returns for foreigners, any easing of access to information can help.
The company has already had a financial news and information area of coverage, but this appears more focused and targeted to Indian-specific market issues rather than coverage of the already covered international markets.
