Markets in Europe rose at 5.45 AM New York time.

The FTSE was up 1.1% to 6,271. Barclays rose 1.5% to 751. BP rose .7% to 538. BT rose .2% to 306.75. GlaxoSmithKline was up 1.4% to 1348. Prudential was up .9% to 692. Reuters was up 1.6% to 438.5. Unilever was up .8% to 1395. Vodafone was up .2% to 148.5.

The DAXX rose .8% to 6,843. Bayer was flat at 45.2. DaimlerChrysler was up .8% to 48.03. Deutsche Bank was up .1% to 108.56. Deutsche Telekom was down .6% to 13.42. SAP was up .3% to 35.51. Siemens was up .6% to 85.04.

The CAC 40 rose 1.1% to 5,669. Alcatel-Lucent was up .2% to 9.91. AXA was up 2.4% to 33.1. France Telecom was up 1.8% to 21.59. ST Micro was up .6% to 14.36. Vivendi was up .7% to 31.8.
