According to Reuters, a group lead by the Royal Bank of Scotland has bid $95.6 billion for ABN Amro (ABN).

Reuters writes that Rio Tinto (RTP) says that a potential bid for Alcan (AL) is speculation.

Reuters reports that Nokia (NOK) says that its patent disputes with Qualcomm (QCOM) may hurt the growth of the 3G phone market.

The WSJ says that the Federal Trade Commission will conduct a review of the Google (GOOG) purchase of ad serving firm DoubleClick.

The WSJ reports that telecom equipment firm Avaya (AV) is in talks to sell all or part of its business.

The WSJ also reports that Vodafone (VOD) increased revenue 6% in the latest fiscal year, and net loss dropped. The company was upbeat about its business in Turkey and India.

The WSJ writes tthat private equity interests are looking at a buyout of CDW (CDWC), a computer retailing operation.

The WSJ also writes that GM (GM) is devoting hundreds of engineers to becomin the "greenest" car company in the world.

The WSJ also reports that the NBC unit of GE (GE) is working on an overhaul of its programming management.

The New York Times reports that Disney’s (DIS) new pirate movie brought in over $400 million worldwide in its first weekend.

The NYT also reports that GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is experiencing a large fall-off of sales of its diabetes drug Avandia in the US since a study came out questioning its safety.

The FT reports that The Chicago Board of Trade (BOT) has asked The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) to sweeten its takeover bid.
