Lenovo Get Stronger: Hewlett Packard (HPQ) And Dell (DELL) Get A Challenge

Lenovo, the world’s third largest PC company increased profits in is last quarter by 13x. And, operations in the US were profitable. Lenovo’s net rose to almost $67 million. Revenue was up 13% to almost $4 billion.

Lenovo now has over 8% of the global PC market and its shipments rose over 22% last quarter.

The news will not exactly be welcome at Dell (DELL). It is now No.2 in global sales and as it tries to expand in overseas markets like China it is meeting stronger competition. In the US, firms like Lenovo, Acer, and Toshiba see a huge market where they must have success to drive up their global revenue and earnings.

Not a fabulous time for Dell to be engineering a turnaround.
