The Nikkei rose .3% to 16,301. Honda (HMC) was up 2.4% to 3790. Docomo (DCM) was up 3.5% to 177000.
Hong Kong was up 2.3% to 23,455. China Mobile (CHL) was up 3.5% to 99.95. China Petroleum (SNP) was up 3.2% to 8.42.
The Shanghai Composite rose .8% to 5,150.
