One of the issues is whether the US company still has enough patented technology in newer 3G handsets. Customers claim it does not and, therefore, should charge lower licensing rates.
The news adds to the company’s trail of woes. Qualcomm has already been sanctioned for infringing Broadcom’s (BRCM) patents by both the ITC and a federal district court.
