The Nikkei rose .9% to 17,106. Sony (SNE) rose .6% to 5,430. Toyota (TM) rose 1.1% to 6350.
The Hang Seng rose .8% to 29,643. China Mobile (CHL) rose 1.2% to 149.7. China Petroleum (SNP) fell .8% to 12.22.
