Most markets in Asia fell and Japan was closed for a holiday.
The Hang Seng was off 2.4% to 26,887. China Petroleium (SNP) was off 4.5% to 11.1. China Unicom (CHU) was off 4.9% to 16.48.
The Shanghai Composite rose .2% to 5,273.
