Citigroup (NYSE: C) and General Motors (NYSE: GM) were removed from the The Global Dow, a relatively new index from Dow Jones Indexes, the same group that puts together the much-more imporant Dow Jones Industrial Average, or Dow 30. Both Citigroup and GM are also in the Dow 30 and it has been speculated for months that they will be removed soon. Could the Global Dow news prelude an announcement to remove the two from the Dow 30?
