Asia Markets and Europe Open 8/5/2009

Markets in Asia were lower.

The Nikkei fell 1.2% to 10,253. Toyota (TM) dropped on earnings.

The Hang Seng fell 1.2% to 20,512.

The Shanghai Composite fell 1.2% to 3,247.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was down .3% to 4,659. BHP Billiton (BHP) fell. The Dax was off .4% to 5,396. Shares in Axa (AXA) rose.
