The Nikkei rose 1.6% to 10,414. Honda (NYSE:HMC) and Sony (NYSE:SNE) rose. Toyota (NYSE:TM) fell on recall news.
The Hang Seng rose 1.6% to 20,351.
The Shanghai Composite was up .3% to 2,994.
At the open in Europe, the FTSE rose .9% to 5,266. The Dax rose 1.1% to 5,708. The CAC 40 was up 1.1% to 3,800.
