Asia Markets And Europe Open (2/8/2010)

Markets in Asia were lower

The Nikkei dropped 1.1% to 9,952. Sony (NYSE:SNE) was hurt by a strong yen.

The Hang Seng fell .6% to 19,551, a five-month low.

The Shanghai Composite dropped .1% to 2,935.

At the open in Europe, the FTSE was up .8% to 5,101. The Dax rose .7% to 5,473. The CAC 40 moved higher by 1% to 3,596.
