Top 12 Earnings and Economic Events This Coming Week (ADM, DNKN, PFE, GM, F, CMCSA, KFT, QCOM, WFM, AIG, EK, LNKD, SBUX, GMCR, ALU)

Earnings season is still running strong and the economic readings keep coming out as well. As we come to the end of October, there is going to be plenty of news coming down the pipe. We also have plenty of data on the economic front, including a two-day FOMC meeting and the nation’s employment situation. On the earnings front, data is from Thomson Reuters consensus estimates, as is the following current quarter estimate data if and when these companies offer guidance.

There are of course many earnings reports that we have not previewed, but these are some of the top earnings reports we have offered previews for: Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE: ADM), Dunkin’ Brands (NASDAQ: DNKN), Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA), Kraft Foods (NYSE: KFT), Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM), Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFM), American International Group (NYSE: AIG), Eastman Kodak (NYSE: EK), LinkedIn (NYSE: LNKD), Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) and Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU). We also have a prior review of the top analyst upgrades and downgrades of the past week.

We have given a breakdown of the data due on each day with earnings and economic releases.

Eastman Kodak is expected to report -$0.44 EPS and $1.65 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are -$0.14 EPS and $1.87 billion in revenues. Obviously, this is not about an earnings report. This is about its patents and whether the tired dog can stay alive. And what about a new CEO announcement? How long can one company stick with the same manager who cannot win?

LinkedIn is expected to report -$0.04 EPS and $127.35 million in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.00 EPS and $147.78 million in revenues. Again, this is more of a barometer for future IPOs like Zynga, Groupon and even Facebook.

Starbucks is expected to report $0.36 EPS and $2.95 billion in revenues; next quarter estimates are $0.51 EPS and $3.25 billion in revenues. If Starbucks reports a solid earnings then it could offer some continued support for the battered Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (NASDAQ: GMCR), which has been under pressure due to famous short sellers taking aim.
