Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) continued to hold its huge lead in US search engine share. In November, the figure was 65.4%. Yahoo!’s (NASDAQ: YHOO) was next at 15.1% and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) was next at 15%.
Microsoft and Yahoo! both use Microsoft’s Bing search platform. That sharing hardly matters. Google has had its lead for years. And nothing the two other company’s can do has prevented that. Microsoft has spent billions of dollars to close the gap and set its joint venture with Yahoo!. The Microsoft internet business continues to lose money. Yaho0! has struggled financially. After firing its CEO, it may be sold.
