New that Netflix will offer new service in Ireland and the UK has moved shares higher by 14% to $99. The increase earlier in the day was much smaller.
Apparently investors are will to forget for now that Netflix lost an estimated one million of its 20 million customers when it suddenly raised rates. Netflix has also said it will loss money next year, in part because of the rapidly rising costs of programming.
The shares are still well below their 52-week high of $304.79.
Netflix does not have a clear shot at the markets in the UK and Ireland. Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) owned Lovefilm is already in the market, solidly according to most experts
