Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) have released their first Window’s based smartphone aimed at the US market. AT&T (NYSE:T) says it will aggressively market the product. The success of the release has met with great skepticism because of the entrenched Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone and an army of Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android powered handsets.
As the product is about to be released into the market, Nokia management bragged about prospects
“The introduction of the Nokia Lumia 900 with AT&T is another significant milestone in the ongoing rollout of Nokia’s global smartphone strategy,” said Chris Weber, president of Nokia Americas. “The Nokia Lumia 900 is designed specifically with the US in mind and the announcement of this collaboration with AT&T, in addition to other recent announcements, signifies a new dawn for Nokia in the US.”
