Top Earnings Previews For Tuesday (NLY, BP, BWLD, CERN, CHD, KO, EMR, HIG, JIVE, NTGR, OPEN, PNRA, SNCR, TM, DIS)

We are getting into the last of the normalized quarterly earnings reports and into the first waves of the companies with off-normal quarter-ends.  Tuesday is going to be another busy day with many earnings.  The earnings previews are for the following: Annaly Capital Management Inc. (NYSE: NLY); Bp Plc (NYSE: BP); Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. (NASDAQ: BWLD); Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN); Church & Dwight Co. (NYSE: CHD); Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE: KO); Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR); Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE: HIG); Jive Software Inc. (NASDAQ: JIVE); NETGEAR Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR); OpenTable Inc. (NASDAQ: OPEN); Panera Bread Co. (NASDAQ: PNRA); Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNCR); Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TM); and The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS).

We have compiled previews using Thomson Reuters consensus data and have added color on each if applicable.

Annaly Capital Management Inc. (NYSE: NLY) is going to be closely watched by the dividend investors because of that 13% implied dividend yield.  The mortgage REIT is expected to report $0.56 per share.

Bp Plc (NYSE: BP) has recovered handily from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster.  This is an ADR so its earnings will be converted from U.K. Pounds… The estimate is $1.57 per share and the stock is up well over 50% from when its shares sold off so much in 2010.  Keep in mind that this was a $60 stock before the Gulf of Mexico disaster.

Buffalo Wild Wings Inc. (NASDAQ: BWLD) is not so hot after the Super Bowl and we are six weeks from the next mega-event in sports.  Estimates are $0.67 EPS and $210.25 million.  This one remains expensive at almost 22-times full 2012 earnings expectations and it is only about $2.00 shy of a 52-week and all-time high.

Cerner Corporation (NASDAQ: CERN) is expected to report $0.53 EPS and $586.86 million in sales.  At $63.20, the 52-week trading range for the healthcare information technology and support company is $53.93 to $74.39.

Church & Dwight Co. (NYSE: CHD) is expected to report $0.51 EPS and $694.32 million.  At $45.50, the 52-week range is $33.83 to $47.00.  This consumer products company remains at a large valuation premium to its larger consumer products rivals and it also has a much lower dividend yield.

Coca-Cola Co. (NYSE: KO) might not move the market but it is a DJIA component due early Tuesday morning.   Estimates are $0.77 EPS and $10.99 billion in sales.  At $67.85, the 52-week range is $61.29 to $71.77.  The report should be a Pepsi-preview for Thursday.

Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR) was down over $10.00 per share from its highs before rallying in recent days.  Estimates are $0.51 EPS and $5.29 billion in revenues.

Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE: HIG) estimates have actually been rising here for the insurance and financial giant and now sit at $0.59 EPS and $5.75 billion in sales.  One analyst recently caused a rally by suggesting that the company could break itself up to drive shareholder value but this notion has been downplayed.  With shares just above $19.00, the 52-week range is $14.56 to $31.08.

Jive Software Inc. (NASDAQ: JIVE) has been public for a very short period of time and this will be its first earnings.  That being said, what will be said is anyone’s guess and this rallied from $15 to $17 in recent days and the stock hit a new high on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s earnings.  This is the Facebook effect because it has a social business software platform for businesses, government agencies, and other enterprises.  Estimates are -$0.39 EPS and $21.01 million in sales.  The company is expected to lose money for all of 2012.

NETGEAR Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR) is taking a breather Monday and the networking equipment maker is expected to post $0.64 EPS on $307.16 million in sales.

OpenTable Inc. (NASDAQ: OPEN) is down massively from its 2011 highs as investors have tended to cease paying for its growth.  The online restaurant reservation player has more implied competition and it still trades at almost 35-times expected 2012 earnings estimates.  Estimates are $0.30 EPS on 19% sales growth to $36.81 million.  At $51.00 its 52-week range is $35.60 to $118.66.

Panera Bread Co. (NASDAQ: PNRA) is at a new high yet again ahead of earnings and it has a high multiple for valuations.  Estimates are $1.42 EPS on over 16% sales growth to $499.05 million.  Chances are very high that the company will need to beat earnings and raise guidance to drive shares higher.

Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNCR) is the company that wins as customers sign up for more and more mobile devices.  It can be very volatile and it trades at over 30-times forward earnings.  Estimates are $0.23 EPS and $61.55 million in sales.

Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) is converted from Yen, so watch for currency as an issue.

The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) will report after the close.  The stock does not move the market so much, but the DJIA component is closely watched for advertising spending in media and for entertainment dollars in movies, theme parks, toys, and merchandise.  Estimates for The Mouse House are $0.71 EPS and $11.2 billion in sales.  Keep in mind that the stock is back over $40.00 and its Monday price above $40.50 is a high not seen since last July.
