October 17, 2014: Markets opened higher on Friday leapt out of the starting gate at the bell this morning and maintained a brisk pace throughout the day. Comments from central bankers in the eurozone and the U.K. stoked the belief that policy rates would be held where they are for some time to come. Shortly before the closing bell the DJIA traded up 1.63% for the day, the S&P 500 traded up 1.37%, and the Nasdaq Composite traded up 1.08%.
