March 13, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 150 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Peabody Energy Corp. (NYSE: BTU) dropped about 8.8% on Friday to post a second consecutive 52-week low, down to $5.31 against a 52-week high of $19.63. Shares closed at $5.82 last night after posting a new low yesterday of $5.75. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 12 million shares. The coal miner took another downgrade Friday morning and price target cut from $7 to $5 a share..

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE: CHK) dropped about 3.2% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $13.48 after closing at $13.92 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $29.92. Share volume was nearly equal to the daily average of around 17.7 million shares traded. Lower crude oil and natural gas prices clobbered energy stocks today, and Chesapeake is an easy target.

National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV) posted a new 52-week low on Friday. Shares dropped about 3.5% to $48.07 from Thursday’s closing price of $49.80. The stock’s 52-week high is $86.55. Volume is about 10% below the daily average of around 6.5 million shares. Another easy target in the energy sector gets knocked around today.

SeaDrill Ltd. (NYSE: SDRL) dropped about 7% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $9.00 after closing at $9.68 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $40.44. Share volume was about 10% below the daily average of around 14.5 million shares traded. Another easy target when crude oil prices fall.
