The 52-Week Low Club for Wednesday

ay 6, 2015: Here are four stocks among the 113 equities making new 52-week lows today. Three of the four are repeats from yesterday’s list.

Noodles & Co. (NASDAQ: NDLS) dropped about 22% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $16.14 against a 52-week high of $35.82. The stock closed at $20.71 on Tuesday night. Volume was about 4-times the daily average of around 780,000 shares. The restaurant operator reported a loss yesterday and cut its guidance, a sure path to a bad trading day.

Fossil Group Inc. (NASDAQ: FOSL) dropped more than 11% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $76.43 after closing at $86.46 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $115.20. Share volume was more than 6-times the daily average of around 1.2 million shares traded. The company reported earnings today and shares were hammered as revenues fell short. It appears that the strong dollar gets the blame, and not the Apple Watch.

3D Systems Corp. (NYSE: DDD) posted a new 52-week low on Wednesday. Shares dropped about 8.2% to $22.22 from Tuesday’s closing price of $24.21. The stock’s 52-week high is $69.56. Volume was about double the daily average of around 2.6 million shares. The company reported poor sales this morning and withdrew its previous guidance.

Avon Products Inc. (NYSE: AVP) dropped about 3.2% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $6.97 after closing at $7.20 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $15.10. Share volume was about 30% below the daily average of around 13.5 million shares traded. The cosmetics firm was hit by a report that it’s efforts to find a buyer for some or all of the company have so far been unsuccessful.
