September 3, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 39 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Joy Global Inc. (NYSE: JOY) dropped 20% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low at $17.70 after closing at $22.13 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $62.74. Share volume was nearly 10 times the daily average of around 2.4 million. The heavy machinery maker posted weak earnings and cut guidance this morning.

Barrick Gold Corp. (NYSE: ABX) dropped about 3.7% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $6.45 against a 52-week high of $18.00. The stock closed at $6.69 on Wednesday night. Volume is roughly 20% below the daily average of around 19 million shares traded. The company’s stock is likely reacting to a seventh loss in nine trading sessions for the yellow metal.

Banco Santander SA (NYSE: SAN) posted a new 52-week low on Thursday. Shares dropped about 1.5% to a low of $5.84 from Wednesday’s closing price of $5.93. The stock’s 52-week high is $10.29. Volume totaled about 25% less than the daily average of around 7 million. The Spanish bank had no specific news today.

Verint Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: VRNT) dropped about 9.2% on Thursday to set a new 52-week low of $46.91 after closing at $51.67 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $66.45. Share volume totaled around 3.3 million shares, about 8 times the daily average of around 426,000. The business software and services supplier cut its guidance last night.
