Petroleo Brasileiro SA (NYSE: PBR) posted a new 52-week low on Monday. Shares dropped about 3.9% to a low of $4.38 from Friday’s closing price of $4.56. The stock’s 52-week high is $18.09. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 31 million. The company’s chairman said this morning that he is taking a leave of absence from that role.
Raptor Pharmaceuticals Corp. (NASDAQ: RPTP) dropped more than 43% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $6.82 against a 52-week high of $16.28. The stock closed at $12.03 on Friday night. Volume is about 18 times the daily average of around 1 million shares traded. The company reported this morning that a Phase 2 study of its fatty liver treatment failed to meet its primary endpoint.
United States Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) dropped more than 5% on Monday to post a new 52-week low at $13.38 after closing at $14.10 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $46.55. Share volume was about 35% below the daily average of around 10 million. Last week a court reversed a U.S. trade commission ruling that would have permitted duties of up to 118% on imported tubular steel, opening the door for further appeals of the original ruling and threatening U.S. Steel’s home market.
Silver Wheaton Corp. (NYSE: SLW) dropped about 5% on Monday to set a new 52-week low of $11.03 after closing at $11.62 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $24.22. Share volume was about equal to the daily average of around 5.4 million. The company silver streaming company was downgraded from Outperform to Market Perform at BMO Capital Markets this morning.
