September 21, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 115 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Petroleo Brasileiro SA (NYSE: PBR) dropped about 3.1% on Monday to post a new 52-week low at $4.32 after closing at $4.46 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $17.64. Share volume was about 25% below the daily average of around 32 million. Brazil’s perilous and volatile economy continues to wreak havoc with Petrobras stock.

United States Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) posted a new 52-week low on Monday. Shares dropped about 3.3% to a low of $12.78 from Friday’s closing price of $13.22. The stock’s 52-week high is $44.87. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 10.8 million. The company has said that it will be forced to close its Canadian operations if the courts don’t allow the steelmaker to cut pension fund payments, tax bills, and benefits for about 20,000 former employees and their dependents.

NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG) dropped more than 9% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $16.33 against a 52-week high of $33.92. The stock closed at $17.98 on Friday night. Volume is about double the daily average of around 5.3 million shares traded. The company had no specific news today, but investors clearly are unhappy with the utility’s plan to separate its clean energy business.

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. (NYSE: POT) dropped about 3.6% on Monday to set a new 52-week low of $23.57 after closing at $24.45 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $37.60. Share volume is about 40% above the daily average of around 5 million. The company had no specific news today.
