September 25, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 435 equities making new 52-week lows today.

Pier 1 Imports Inc. (NYSE: PIR) dropped about 21% on Friday to post a new 52-week low at $6.84 after closing at $8.67 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $17.52. Share volume was about 15 times the daily average of around 2 million. The retailer posted weak results after markets closed on Thursday and shares were pounded today.

SunOpta Inc. (NASDAQ: STKL) dropped about 13% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $5.42 against a 52-week high of $14.25. The stock closed at $6.23 on Thursday night. Volume is about 25 times the daily average of around 460,000 shares traded. The natural food producer price an underwritten follow-on offering this morning at $6.00 a share and issued 16.7 million shares.

SeaDrill Ltd. (NYSE: SDRL) posted a new 52-week low on Friday. Shares dropped about 3.4% to a low of $6.01 from Thursday’s closing price of $6.22. The stock’s 52-week high is $27.61. Volume was about 25% below the daily average of around 13 million. The company is one of the top five drillers for troubled Brazilian producer Petrobras.

Teck Resources Inc. (NYSE: TCK) dropped about 6.8% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $4.78 against a 52-week high of $19.31. The stock closed at $5.13 on Thursday night. Volume is about 5% higher than the daily average of nearly 7 million shares traded. The Canada-based miner is being hit by the falling price of copper.
