United States Steel Corp. (NYSE: X) dropped about 6% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $9.80 against a 52-week high of $42.25. The stock closed at $10.42 on Wednesday night. Volume is about equal to the daily average of around 11.6 million shares traded. The company had no specific news today.

The Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) dropped about 3.2% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low at $27.59 after closing at $28.50 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $43.90. Share volume was 70% above the daily average of around 4.7 million. Yesterday’s loss of the president of the Old Navy division to Ralph Lauren continues to take a toll on Gap’s stock price.

Navient Corp. (NASDAQ: NAVI) posted a new 52-week low on Thursday. Shares dropped about 3.1% to a low of $10.89 from Wednesday’s closing price of $11.24. The stock’s 52-week high is $25.00. Volume was about 85% higher than the daily average of around 10 million. The student loan servicer could face legal action brought by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau over some of its servicing practices.

Mattel Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) dropped about 6.4% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $19.72 against a 52-week high of $32.17. The stock closed at $21.06 on Wednesday night. Volume was about 50% above the daily average of around 5 million shares traded. The toymaker had no specific news today.
