October 19, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 34 equities making new 52-week lows today.
Quanta Services Inc. (NYSE: PWR) dropped about 1.5% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $18.46 against a high of $35.33. The stock closed at $18.74 on Friday night. Volume was more than double the daily average of around 3.6 million shares traded. The company warned on third- and fourth-quarter earnings last Friday. The bleeding stopped early Monday, though, and shares look set to close up nearly 3%.
Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ: STX) dropped about 2.8% on Monday to post a new 52-week low at $38.46 after closing at $39.56 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $69.40. Share volume was nearly about equal to the daily average of around 5.3 million. The company warned on third quarter earnings Friday, and shares continued to lose ground Monday.
SLM Corp. (NASDAQ: SLM) dropped about 2.7% on Monday to post a new 52-week low of $6.74 against a 52-week high of $10.76. The stock closed at $6.93 on Friday night. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 3.7 million shares traded. The student lending organization known as SallieMae is scheduled to report third-quarter results on Tuesday.
Kansas City Southern (NYSE: KSU) posted a new low on Monday. Shares dropped about 5.6% to a low of $85.75 from Friday’s closing price of $87.37. The stock’s 52-week high is $126.49. Volume was more than double the daily average of around 1.5 million. The railroad company reported weak results on Friday and losses continued into Monday.
