Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (NYSE: VRX) dropped nearly 40% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $88.50 against a high of $263.81. The stock closed at $146.74 on Tuesday night. Volume was about 20 times the daily average of around 3.8 million shares traded. The company was attacked Wednesday by short-seller Citron Research. The attack alleges that Valeant has committed fraud.

VMware Inc. (NYSE: VMW) dropped about 23% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $52.72 against a 52-week high of $93.43. The stock closed at $68.76 on Tuesday night. Volume was about 8 times the daily average of around 2.4 million shares traded. The company took some downgrades today as prospects dim for growth.

Endo International plc (NASDAQ: ENDP) dropped nearly 22% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low at $49.31 after closing at $62.83 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $96.58. Share volume was nearly 8 times the daily average of around 2.9 million. The company was caught in the same storm that blew through Valeant, namely the use of specialty pharmacy services to sell the company’s drugs.

Supervalu Inc. (NYSE: SVU) posted a new low on Wednesday. Shares dropped about 8.7% to a low of $6.63 from Tuesday’s closing price of $7.21. The stock’s 52-week high is $12.00. Volume was more than 3 times the daily average of around 4 million. The grocery store chain missed on earnings and revenues when it reported second fiscal quarter results this morning.
