Platform Specialty Products Corp. (NYSE: PAH) dropped nearly 20% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $9.25 against a 52-week high of $28.44. The stock closed at $11.53 on Thursday night. Volume was more than 5 times the daily average of around 3.1 million shares traded. The company’s CEO this morning announced his retirement.
V.F. Corp. (NYSE: VFC) dropped almost 16% on Friday to post a new 52-week low at $61.56 after closing at $73.21 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $77.83. Share volume was about 80% higher than the daily average of around 1.7 million. The clothing company reported weak results this morning and then reduced its outlook.
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) posted a new low on Friday. Shares dropped about 1.2% to a low of $58.22 from Thursday’s closing price of $58.90. The stock’s 52-week high is $90.97. Volume was about equal to the daily average of around 11.3 million. The company had no specific news today.
