The 52-Week Low Club for Tuesday

November 17, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 187 equities making new 52-week lows today.

SunEdison Inc. (NYSE: SUNE) dropped about 36% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.90 against a high of $33.45. The stock closed at $4.56 on Monday night. Volume reached about 4 times the daily average of around 37 million shares traded. The solar PV maker’s stock was dumped by several hedge funds. The company’s yieldco TerraForm Power is also being hammered today, but not as badly as its parent.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. (NYSE: DKS) posted a new low on Tuesday. Shares dropped about 18% to a low of $33.42 from Monday���s closing price of $40.81. The stock’s 52-week high is $60.33. Volume reached more than 10 times the daily average of about 2 million shares. The sporting goods retailer reported weak results this morning and forecast more of the same for the fourth quarter.

GNC Holdings Inc. (NYSE: GNC) dropped about 27% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $22.64 against a 52-week high of $51.69. The stock closed at $31.05 on Monday night. Volume was more than 10 times the daily average of around 2 million shares traded. The nutritional supplement company’s stock was pummeled after the U.S. Department of Justice announced an investigation into supplement makers.

Urban Outfitters Inc. (NASDAQ: URBN) dropped by about 15% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low at $19.27 after closing at $22.67 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $47.25. Share volume approached 10 times the daily average of around 2.2 million. The teen retailer announced Monday that it was buying a pizzeria chain and that sent investors toward the exits. The company also posted soft results after markets closed last night.
