The 52-Week Low Club for Wednesday

November 18, 2015: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 142 equities making new 52-week lows today.

SunEdison Inc. (NYSE: SUNE) dropped more than 10% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.71 against a high of $33.45. The stock closed at $3.02 on Tuesday night. Volume reached about 3 times the daily average of around 39 million shares traded. The solar PV maker’s stock was dumped by several hedge funds on Tuesday, but managed to recover from a new low to add more than 8% by the late afternoon on Wednesday.

Qualcomm Inc. (NYSE: QCOM) posted a new low on Wednesday. Shares dropped more than 10% to a low of $47.52 from Tuesday’s closing price of $52.98. The stock’s 52-week high is $75.72. Volume reached more than 3 times the daily average of about 12.6 million shares. The chipmaker was battered today with allegations antitrust violations and patent licensing problems.

Target Corp. (NYSE: TGT) dropped about 6.5% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $68.15 against a 52-week high of $85.81. The stock closed at $72.91 on Tuesday night. Volume was more than 4 times the daily average of around 5.7 million shares traded. The big box store reported mixed quarterly results Wednesday morning.

GoPro Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRO) dropped by about 9.6% on Wednesday to post a new 52-week low at $18.86 after closing at $20.87 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $86.00. Share volume was 50% above the daily average of around 10 million. The action camera maker took another price cut today and investors are worried that the holiday season is not likely to cure GoPro’s ills.
