March 3, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 17 equities making new 52-week lows today. Volume was on the light side again today.

Ciena Corp. (NYSE: CIEN) posted a new 52-week low on Thursday. Shares traded at a low of $16.32, down more than 21%, after closing at $20.71 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $26.50. Volume totaled more than 7 times the daily average of around 3.5 million shares. The communications and networking company offered a weak forecast this morning that sucked all the air out of the stock today.

Fibria Celulose SA (NYSE: FBR) fell by about 8.2% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $9.39 against a high of $14.94. The stock closed at $10.23 on Wednesday night. Volume rose to about 2.4 million shares, more than double the daily average of about 1.1 million shares traded. The Brazil-based pulp supplier had no specific news today.

Teekay Tankers Ltd. (NYSE: TNK) dropped about 2.9% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $3.66 against a 52-week high of $8.53. The stock closed at $3.72 on Wednesday night. Volume rose to about 2 million shares, about 20% below the stock’s daily average volume of around 2.5 million. The oil and refined products tanker company had no specific news again today.

Cleco Corp. (NYSE: CNL) dropped by about 1.1% on Thursday to post a new 52-week low at $44.78 after closing at $45.30 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $54.91. Share volume totaled close to double the daily average of around 670,000 shares traded. The Louisiana utility holding company had no specific news again today.
