The 52-Week Low Club for Friday

May 13, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 89 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. NYSE decliners led advancers by 2 to 1 while Nasdaq decliners led advancers by about 5 to 4.

LendingClub Corp. (NYSE: LC) fell by about 6.4% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $3.52 against a high of $19.48. The stock closed at $3.76 on Thursday night. Volume was more than 3 times the stock’s daily average of around 10 million. A banking group that has been a buyer of the online peer-to-peer lending company’s loans has said it is suspending new purchases.

Nordstrom Inc. (NYSE: JWN) dropped 16% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $37.99 against a 52-week high of $80.23. The stock closed at $45.23 on Thursday night. Volume was more than 7 times the stock’s daily average volume of around 3.7 million shares. The company reported weak results after markets closed Thursday, and department store chains are the worst performing sub-sector in the retail sector. Nordstrom’s results did nothing to turn that around.

ConforMIS Inc. (NASDAQ: CFMS) dropped by nearly 53% on Friday to post a new 52-week low at $4.80 after closing at $10.11 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $26.93. Daily volume rose to about 30 times the average of about 340,000 shares. The company slashed its guidance after reporting results last night and is looking for a replacement for its CEO.

The Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) posted a new 52-week low on Friday. Shares traded at a low of $17.33, down about 3%, after closing at $17.86 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $39.59. Volume was about 25% higher than the daily average of around 6.8 million shares. The retailer had no specific news, but Friday the 13th was a brutal day for retailers in general.

In 20 Years, I Haven’t Seen A Cash Back Card This Good

After two decades of reviewing financial products I haven’t seen anything like this. Credit card companies are at war, handing out free rewards and benefits to win the best customers.

A good cash back card can be worth thousands of dollars a year in free money, not to mention other perks like travel, insurance, and access to fancy lounges.

Our top pick today pays up to 5% cash back, a $200 bonus on top, and $0 annual fee. Click here to apply before they stop offering rewards this generous.
