August 23, 2016: Here are three stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 12 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. NYSE advancers led decliners by about 2 to 1 and Nasdaq advancers led decliners by nearly as much.
Embraer SA (NYSE: ERJ) dropped about 1.5% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $17.22 after closing at $17.49 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $32.50. Volume totaled about 1.1 million shares, about 10% below the daily average of around 1.3 million shares. The Brazil-based aircraft manufacturer had no specific news Tuesday, but is facing a raft of lawsuits related to bribery allegations in the Dominican Republic.
SeaChange International Inc. (NASDAQ: SEAC) lost more than 13% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.88 after closing Monday at $3.32. The 52-week high is $7.20. Volume of around 600,000 was about 3 times the daily average of around 190,000. The content delivery network released disappointing quarterly results Tuesday morning.
Gulfmark Offshore Inc. (NYSE: GLF) dropped nearly 8% on Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $2.43 against a 52-week high of $9.04. Volume of around 550,000 was about 20% below the daily average of around 670,000. The stock closed at $9.00 on Monday night. The company had no specific news Tuesday.
