Staples, Teva Join Friday's 52-Week Low Club

October 14, 2016: Here are four stocks trading with relatively heavy volume among 57 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by just better than an even margin and on the Nasdaq advancers led decliners by just 4 stocks.

Staples Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS) dropped 1.4% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $7.54 against a 52-week high of $13.50. Volume of about 5 million was about 15% below the daily average of around 6.2 million. The stock closed at $7.65 on Thursday night. The office supply store had no specific news, but the Census Bureau’s report on September retail sales didn’t help.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. (NYSE: TEVA ) lost about 2.8% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $43.02 after closing Thursday at $44.28. The 52-week high is $66.55. Volume of around 5 million was about 15% below the daily average of around 6.2 million shares traded. The stock had no specific news.

Fang Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: SFUN) lost about 5.3% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $3.56 after closing Thursday at $3.76. The 52-week high is $8.17. Volume of around 4.5 million was about 35% above the daily average of about 3.5 million shares traded. The Chinese online real-estate information provider had no specific news.

ImmunoGen Inc. (NASDAQ: IMGN) dropped about 6.6% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $2.25 after closing at $2.41 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week high is $14.22. Volume was about 20% below the daily average of around 10.6 million shares. The company had no specific news Friday.
