Top DJIA Earnings Reports in the Week Ahead

Third-quarter earnings reporting season is underway, and 24/7 Wall St. has put together a preview of some of the major Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) companies scheduled to report their quarterly results this week. Overall, one-third of the Dow is reporting next week, and this has the potential to push the Dow back up to its highs.

We included the consensus earnings estimates from Thomson Reuters and the stock price and trading history, as well as added some additional color on each.

Be advised that the earnings and revenue estimates may change ahead of the formal reports, and some companies may reschedule reporting dates as well.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE: IBM) will share its most recent quarterly results on Monday. The consensus estimates call for earnings per share (EPS) of $3.24 and $19.00 billion in revenue. Shares of Big Blue were at $154.45 at the close on Friday, in a 52-week trading range of $116.90 to $165.00. The stock has a consensus analyst price target of $154.12.

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC) is scheduled to reveal its third-quarter results on Tuesday. The consensus estimates call for $0.72 in EPS, as well as $15.56 billion in revenue. Shares were trading at $37.45 on Friday’s close. The consensus price target is $40.47. The stock has a 52-week range of $27.68 to $38.36.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) is set to report its most recent results on Tuesday. The analysts’ consensus estimates call for EPS of $1.65 and $17.71 billion in revenue. Shares were changing hands at $117.56 on Friday’s close. The consensus price target is $124.50, and the 52-week range is $94.28 to $126.07.

UnitedHealth Group Inc. (NYSE: UNH) is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Tuesday. The consensus estimates are $2.08 in EPS and $46.09 billion in revenue. Shares were at $133.92 as last week came to a close. The consensus price target is $161.95, and the 52-week range is $107.51 to $144.48.

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) is set to share its latest quarterly earnings on Thursday. The consensus estimates call for $0.68 in EPS on $21.71 billion in revenue. Shares were at $57.42 on Friday’s close, in a 52-week range of $46.90 to $58.70. The consensus price target is $59.87.

Travelers Companies Inc. (NYSE: TRV) is expected to reveal its third-quarter results on Thursday. The consensus forecast calls for $2.31 in EPS, as well as $6.36 billion in revenue. The stock ended last week at $115.08 per share. The consensus price target is $114.12, and the 52-week range is $101.23 to $119.32.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) will to share its latest quarterly earnings on Thursday. The consensus estimates call for $0.99 in EPS and $31.19 billion in revenue. Shares were at $50.28 as Friday’s trading ended, in a 52-week range of $43.79 to $56.95. The consensus price target is $54.24.

General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) also is scheduled to report its third-quarter results on Friday. The consensus analyst estimates call for $0.32 in EPS and revenue of $29.85 billion. Shares closed at $28.89 on Friday. The consensus price target is $32.80. The 52-week range is $27.10 to $33.00.

McDonald’s Corp. (NYSE: MCD) third-quarter results are expected on Friday. The consensus analyst estimates are $1.49 in EPS and revenue of $6.28 billion. McDonald’s shares closed at $114.09 on Friday. The consensus price target is $128.33. The 52-week range is $102.08 to $131.96.
