Tegna, Cenovus Energy Dip into Monday's 52-Week Low Club

June 5, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 102 equities making new 52-week lows in Monday’s session. On the NYSE, decliners led advancers by about  3 to 2 and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by about 9 to 5.

Tegna Inc. (NYSE: TGNA) dropped 2.5% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $14.32 after closing at $14.68 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $26.65. Volume was about 7.1 million, approaching double the daily average of around 3.8 million shares. The company had no specific news, but is still feeling the effects of its spin-off of Cars.com.

Cenovus Energy Inc. (NYSE: CVE) dropped about 1.6% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $8.40 after closing at $8.58 on Friday. The stock’s 52-week high is $16.82. Volume of about 5.5 million was about 25% above the daily average. The company had no specific news.

SeaDrill Ltd. (NYSE: SDRL) dropped about 6.5% Monday to post a new 52-week  low of $0.44 after closing Friday at $0.46. The 52-week high is $4.59. Volume was about half the daily average of about 11 million shares. The company had no specific news.

DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS) posted a new 52-week low of $1.94 on Monday, down about 15.7% compared with Friday’s closing price of $2.30. Volume totaled about 4.5 million shares, about half the daily average of about 9 million. The company had no specific news Monday.
