Wednesday was an incredibly positive day for the U.S. markets. Crude oil pushed higher on the day bringing up the oil & gas stocks, although there were a couple laggards in the group. For the most part, there really weren’t that many stocks posting a loss on Wednesday. On the other hand, everything was positive, led by a strong mega caps tech sector and an overall strong health care sector. Not to mention, the DJIA hit a new record high in intraday trading.
Crude oil was last seen up about 1% at $45.49.
Gold was also trading up 0.5% at $1,220.70.
The S&P 500 stock posting the largest daily percentage loss ahead of the close Wednesday was W.W. Grainger, Inc. (NYSE: GWW) which traded down over 4% at $168.72. The stock’s 52-week range is $167.44 to $262.71. Volume was 1.9 million versus the daily average of 1.1 million shares.
The stock posting the largest daily percentage gain in the S&P 500 ahead of the close Wednesday was First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSLR) which rose nearly 5% to $41.79. The stock’s 52-week range is $25.56 to $49.50. Volume was 3.3 million compared to its average volume of 3.0 million.
The average American spends $17,274 on debit cards a year, and it’s a HUGE mistake. First, debit cards don’t have the same fraud protections as credit cards. Once your money is gone, it’s gone. But more importantly you can actually get something back from this spending every time you swipe.
Issuers are handing out wild bonuses right now. With some you can earn up to 5% back on every purchase. That’s like getting a 5% discount on everything you buy!
Our top pick is kind of hard to imagine. Not only does it pay up to 5% back, it also includes a $200 cash back reward in the first six months, a 0% intro APR, and…. $0 annual fee. It’s quite literally free money for any one that uses a card regularly. Click here to learn more!
