Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Discovery Dip into Tuesday’s 52-Week Low Club

September 12, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 27 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by about 3 to 2 and on the Nasdaq advancers led decliners by roughly the same margin.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE: HPE) dropped about 2.2% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $12.99 after closing at $13.28 on Monday. The 52-week high is $14.86. Volume was around 14 million, about 10% above the daily average. The company priced an offering of $1.1 billion in senior 2.1% notes late yesterday.

Discovery Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: DISCA) posted a new 52-week low of $20.53 on Tuesday, down about 2.2% from Monday’s closing price of $20.98. The stock’s 52-week high is $55.08. Volume totaled around 5.5 million shares, about 25% above the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Intercept Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ICPT) dropped over 20% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $90.54 after closing Monday at $113.48. The 52-week high is $172.95. Volume of around 5.5 million shares traded was nearly 13 times the daily average. The drugmaker sent out a warning letter related to liver injuries and possible death related to its Ocaliva drug.

Advaxis Inc. (NASDAQ: ADXS) dropped nearly 20% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $5.49 after closing at $6.84 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $12.66. Volume of around 2.5 million was almost 5 times the daily average. The company reported a quarterly loss last night.
