Windstream, Intercept Pharma Dip into Wednesday's 52-Week Low Club

September 27, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 52 equities making new 52-week lows in Wednesday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by about 4 to 3 and on the Nasdaq advancers led decliners by nearly 3 to 1.

Uniti Group Inc. (NASDAQ: UNIT) dropped about 5.6% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $14.77 after closing at $15.65 on Tuesday. The 52-week high is $32.06. Volume was around 8.6 million, more than 3 times the daily average. The company, a former unit of Windstream,may be getting beaten up because investors are wary of its former parent.

Genocea Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ: GNCA) posted a new 52-week low of $1.20 on Wednesday, down about 4% from Tuesday’s closing price of $1.25. The stock’s 52-week high is $7.29. Volume totaled around 6 million shares, nearly 10 times the daily average. The company said on Tuesday that it was cutting staff and shifting its development focus.

Windstream Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: WIN) traded flat Wednesday to tie a new 52-week low of $1.75 set at the closing bell on Tuesday. The 52-week high is $10.46. Volume of around 4.4 million shares traded was about 10% higher than the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Intercept Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ICPT) dropped about 6.6% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $54.98 after closing at $58.84 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $172.75. Volume of around 3.5 million was more than double the daily average. The company had no specific news Wednesday.
