Kraft Heinz, Popular Inc. Drop into Wednesday's 52-Week Low Club

October 4, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 23 equities making new 52-week lows in Wednesday’s session. On the NYSE, decliners led advancers by less than 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq advancers and decliners were evenly split.

The Kraft Heinz Co. (NASDAQ: KHC) dropped about 1.4% Wednesday to establish a new 52-week low of $76.76 after closing at $77.82 on Tuesday. The 52-week high is $97.77. Volume of around 3 million shares traded was roughly equal to the daily average. The company’s stock took a downgrade from Buy to Neutral.

Popular Inc. (NASDAQ: BPOP) posted a new 52-week low of $34.45 on Wednesday, down about 2% from Tuesday’s closing price of $35.16. The stock’s 52-week high is $3.75. Volume totaled around 1.8 million shares, more than double the daily average. The Puerto Rico-based bank had no specific news today, but it didn’t really need any.

SCANA Corp. (NYSE: SCG) dropped about 1.2% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $47.80 after closing at $48.55 on Tuesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $74.99. Volume of around 1.5 million was about 10% above the daily average. The company had no specific news.

Exela Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: XELA) dropped about 5.4% Wednesday to post a new 52-week low of $4.37 after closing at $4.62 on Tuesday. The 52-week high is $10.15. Volume was around 1.2 million, about 6 times the daily average. The technology services company had no specific news.
