General Electric, AT&T Slip into Tuesday's 52-Week Low Club

October 24, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 94 equities making new 52-week lows in Tuesday’s session. On the NYSE, advancers led decliners by about 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq advancers and decliners traded about evenly.
General Electric Co. (NYSE: GE) dropped about 2.6% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $21.75 after closing at $22.32 on Monday. The 52-week high is $32.38. Volume was around 105 million, more than three times the daily average of about 47 million. The company’s stock continues to sink following a couple of Monday downgrades.
Eldorado Gold Corp. (NYSE: EGO) dropped about 4.5% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $1.48 after closing at $1.55 on Monday. The 52-week high is $3.91. Volume was around 16 million, more than five times the daily average. On Monday the gold miner updated its Kisladag operations in Turkey by lowering production estimates.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) dropped about 1.2% Tuesday to post a new 52-week low of $34.81 after closing at $35.25 on Monday. The stock’s 52-week high is $43.03. Volume of around 37 million was about 30% higher than the daily average. The telecom giant reports quarterly earnings before the bell Wednesday morning.
Weatherford International plc (NYSE: WFT posted a new 52-week low of $3.16 on Tuesday, down about 7% from Monday’s closing price of $3.40. The stock’s 52-week high is $7.09. Volume totaled around 32 million shares, about double the daily average. The company completed a senior note exchange program on Monday at the same interest rate (9.875%) for $790 million issued in a privately placed debt for new notes registered with the SEC.
