Sprint, LendingClub Thursday’s 52-Week Low Club

December 7, 2017: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 115 equities making new 52-week lows in Thursday’s session. On the NYSE advancers led decliners by about 3 to 2 and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about the same ratio.

LendingClub Corp. (NYSE: LC) dropped about 23% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $3.29 after closing at $4.25 on Wednesday. The 52-week high is $6.78. Volume was around 42 million, nearly 6 times the daily average of about 7.3 million. At an investors’ meeting today the company lowered its Q4 outlook and delivered a lower-than-expected forecast for next year.

Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) posted a new 52-week low of $5.46 Thursday, down 4% after closing at $5.69 on Wednesday. The 52-week high is $9.65. Volume was about 15.5 million, less than 10% below the daily average of around 16.7 million shares. The auto parts maker spun out of Delphi Automotive this morning to become a standalone engine and components company. The company had no specific news.

Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE: CX) dropped about 1.4% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $7.09 after closing at $7.19 on Wednesday. The 52-week high is $10.37. Volume was around 12.5 million, about 20% below the daily average of around 9.5. The cement company had no specific news.

Barrick Gold Corp. (NYSE: ABX) dropped about 2% Thursday to post a new 52-week low of $13.28 after closing at $13.55 on Wednesday. The stock’s 52-week high is $20.78. Volume of around 8.7 million was less than 10% below the daily average. The gold miner had no specific news, but gold closed at a six-month low as bitcoin continues to soar.
