Ohr Pharma, Francesca's Dive into Friday's 52-Week Low Club

January 5, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 37 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. On the NYSE advancers led decliners by about 3 to 2 and on the Nasdaq, advancers and decliners by roughly the same margin.

Ohr Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: OHRP) dropped nearly 83% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $0.35 after closing at $2.02 on Thursday. The stock’s 52-week hig is $2.18. Volume was around 32.6 million, more than 30 times the daily average of around 1.2 million. The company reported that topline data from a clinical study failed to meet its primary endpoint.

Francesca’s Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: FRAN) dropped about 21% Friday to post a 52-week low of $5.95 after closing at $7.50 on Thursday. The 52-week high is $19.50. Volume was around 7.8 million, about 7 times the daily average. The specialty retailer lowered its fourth-quarter outlook and investors did not respond well.

Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd. (NYSE: YGE) slipped about 1.2% to post a new 52-week low of $1.68 Friday after closing at $1.70 on Thursday. The 52-week high is $3.35. Volume of about 5.9 million was more than 15 times the daily average of around 88,000. The company had no specific news.

Barnes & Noble Inc. (NYSE: BKS) traded down nearly 17% Friday and posted a new 52-week low of $5.40 after closing Thursday at $6.50. The 52-week high is $11.80. Volume was about 5.4 million, more than 4 times the daily average of around 1.3 million shares. The company revealed that same-store sales tumbled 6.4% in November and December.
