April 9, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 77 equities making new 52-week lows in Monday’s session. On the NYSE advancers led decliners by more than 8 to 7 and on the Nasdaq, advancers led decliners by about 4 to 3.
Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ACAD) traded down about 27% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $15.74 after closing Friday at $21.53. The stock’s 52-week high is $41.20. Volume was more 10 times the daily average of around 2 million shares. The company had no specific news, but a report from CNN on problems with the Acadia’s Nuplazid sent shares tumbling.
Veon Ltd. (NASDAQ: VEON) dropped about 16% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $2.24. Shares closed at $2.68 on Friday and the stock’s 52-week high is $4.47. Volume was about 3 times the daily average of around 5.8 million shares. The company had no specific news.
Sibanye Gold Ltd. (NYSE: SBGL) traded down about 8.3% Monday and posted a new 52-week low of $3.66 after closing Friday at $3.99. The stock’s 52-week high is $10.60. Volume totaled around 7.5 million, about double the daily average. The company had no specific news..
Incyte Corp. (NASDAQ: INCY) fell by about 4.2% Monday to post a new 52-week low of $61.30 after closing at $64.02 on Friday. The 52-week high is $142.45. Volume of about 6.8 million was about four times the daily average. Last Friday the company failed to meet its primary endpoint in a cancer drug study and investors seem to believe more punishment is in order.
